We know plans change, please follow the below guidance if you need to cancel a UK Rail booking.
Please note that Refundable tickets (not Advance tickets) will be refunded once the ticket expiry date has passed. All tickets are subject to a £10 Admin charge.
• Rail E-tickets -
To cancel a UK Rail booking that was booked through Lightning (CTM's Online Booking Tool), this can be done in the ‘My bookings’ section in Lightning. You will need to check that the rate booked is refundable before attempting to cancel the booking. CTM cannot be held liable for any charges incurred as a result of a cancellation.
When logged into Lightning, click on the ‘My Bookings’ section, a summary of your bookings will be displayed on screen.
Select the relevant booking and click on ‘Manage Booking’.
To initiate the cancellation, select ‘Cancel Booking’. A pop-up box will then appear asking you to confirm the cancellation. Press ‘Yes’ to proceed. A pop-up window will appear confirming the cancellation. Once the cancellation has been processed, you will see the booking as “Cancelled” in the “Booking Status” column in your Baskets Manager.
If you do not see the ‘Manage Bookings’ Section in Lightning, please contact your dedicated CTM team, if you are unsure of the contact details for your dedicated team please call us on 0207 429 9600 (option 2) and we will gladly direct you to the right team to assist you with cancelling a booking.
• Rail Ticket on Departure -
You do not need to contact CTM for this. Refundable tickets (not Advance tickets) will automatically be refunded once the ticket expiry date has passed, provided the tickets have not been collected. If they have however been collected, they need to be posted back to CTM, to the address below.
• Local on-site ticket machine -
You do not need to contact CTM for this. Refundable tickets (not Advance tickets) will be automatically refunded once the ticket expiry date has passed, provided the tickets have not been collected. If they have however been collected, they need to be posted back to CTM, to the address below.
